This 160sqm restaurant – named for a signature Dutch dessert – famously began its life as a vegetarian squatters restaurant in the early eighties and continues to be a true local treasure to this day.

Studio Bakker successfully translated the dedication and no-nonsense qualities of the owner, his cuisine and the staff into a clean and straightforward design. The bar and kitchen are covered entirely in utilitarian yet chic salty grey tiles, and the interior is further enhanced with a custom curated art collection including a commissioned oil painting of an entrecote by Belgian artist Orphee Pannekoucke.
